Editing over 100 short fiction projects, 2 novels, and writing a 300-page novel of my own has taught me a lesson about writing. There are certain key mistakes even experienced writers make that disengage their readers, causing them to close their book, put it back on the shelf, and let it collect dust for years.

He caught so many things that I missed after closely editing it myself, took out unnecessary words and reworded some sentences to make me sound better. He also added ideas of his own here and there that weren't in the scenes prior. A godlike editor!
