I will line edit up to 1,000 words

About:

Is your writing style clear and comprehensible? Does it flow well? Does it create atmosphere? Evoke emotion? Is the tone suitable for the content?

A line edit will give you the answers to these questions and more. Unlike a developmental edit, which looks at the overall structure of your work, and a copyedit, which considers the technical aspects of spelling, grammar and punctuation, a line edit covers the middle ground.

During a line edit, I will look at your work on a sentence-by-sentence and paragraph-by-paragraph level. As well as highlighting style and tone issues, I will alert you to more insidious issues, such as:

• run-on sentences
• overused, cliched or 'sticky' language
• characterization, dialogue, and plot issues
• confusing language or jargon
• telling rather than showing
• pacing, and
• weak or melodramatic language

Your file will be delivered as a Word document with inline comments and tracked changes, so you can choose to accept or reject suggested changes.
