In every job I've held, I eventually became the office grammar guru. I would copy edit, proofread, and answer those tricky questions that always come up in the wonderful world of the English language.

My services:



     Proofreading involves marking the document for errors. This includes spelling, punctuation, capitalization, formatting (i.e. when to spell out a number or use the numeral), and grammar rules (i.e. subject/verb agreement).



    Light copy editing involves more syntax issues. I will reword a sentence to increase readability. I will check facts and point out continuity errors. I will not add or remove content, nor will I rewrite a sentence if there's a chance it will change the meaning of what you are trying to say.



I am a native English speaker. I use the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, and I can adhere to Chicago or AP style if requested.



I can return your marked document via Microsoft Word (via the Track Changes feature) or a scanned PDF.
