Be Your Developmental Editor

About:

So you've written a novel. Now what?

Developmental editing is an essential step in the publishing process. Whether you choose to self-publish or query your manuscript to an agent, a good developmental edit will help you get a sense of the bigger picture of what is working and what isn't in your story.

It can be a daunting task for any writer, but I'm here to make that easier for you.

A developmental edit includes in-line comments on your manuscript, light line edits that address clarity issues, and a full reader report on what is working, what is not and how your story can be improved.

This report will consider:

  • plot
  • structure
  • characters and their arcs
  • world building and setting
  • themes
  • pacing
  • point of view
  • voice
  • any other elements that are essential for making your story stronger and more engaging

I will work with your word document with track changes to show you what I have changed.

I accept most genres including non-fiction, but not memoirs.

I'm looking forward to reading your story!

Excellent. Thorough, genuine feedback and useful advice throughout the document and feedback report. Clarity, continuity, character development, overall plot focus, and finer details all mentioned in context. I have a lot to do and have good ideas what to fix first. Thank you.
